IBEW Local 96 started over one hundred years ago, when electrical workers determined the best way to increase wages, conditions, and benefits, was to join with other workers to have a more powerful unified voice and insure that their demands were met.
Today, the same holds true, when workers unite and organize, they are not “at-will employees” at the mercy of their bosses decisions, they become a union.

Our Members Live Better
As union members, we bargain collectively with our employers over wages, benefits, and rights.
Most of us have very limited bargaining power as one person, but as a group, we are strong. And, with a good negotiated contract, we have legal protections we would not have otherwise.
MASSACHUSETTS LABOR NEWS
Please note that under the State of Massachusetts’ current Corona Virus Guidelines, gathering size limits have been reduced to 10 people inside and 25 people outside. Therefore, the following monthly meetings have been suspended until further notice:
- All Local 96 Union meetings, which were held at 6:00 PM on the first Monday of the month.
- All Local 96 Retiree Meetings, which were held at 10:00 AM on the last Thursday of each month.
- The Local 96 Motorcycle Club, which was held on the 3rd Thursday of the month has suspended meetings through the winter and will resume meeting in the spring.
- The RENEW Committee does not have any meetings planned at this time - TBA
