September 28, 2017 – Worcester, MA – Dagle Electrical Corp., based in Wilmington, MA, and its field crew of 12 IBEW Local 96 electricians are nearing completion of the citywide Worcester Street Light Retrofit and Traffic Signal project. The project entails the installation of over 13,000 energy-efficient LED streetlights in all roadways of Worcester by Local 96 team. The LED fixtures will be network-integrated with such intelligent control features as dimming, diagnostics, adaptive scheduling, and failure alerts. The clean energy project is expected to be completed months ahead of schedule, in November 2017. The project will result in significant energy savings for Worcester – approximately $910,000 and over 6,000,000 kWH will be saved annually. The LED retrofit project will result in reduced annual maintenance costs for Worcester.
